AL HABASHI General Contracting provides all construction relevant services as a general contractor but we also provide single services. We care about the highest possible degree of customer satisfaction is also gained by a competent construction branches management in the highest quality, precision and delivery reliability.
The esthetical organization of single building groups and their open space define our urban planning as well as the needs and requirements of the people. Our overarching planning objective is the harmonizing interaction of public and private space: The integration of living, working and social interaction as well as the co-action between new and existing building structure.
Architecture is more than just producing buildings. It is nothing less than a corporate cultural creation challenge between the client and the architect. Therefore we rely on the expertise and experience of our excellently qualified engineers, who put the clients wishes efficiently, sustainable and in the highest quality level into practice.
Structural Engineering is not only ensuring safety and reliability of load-bearing structures in the building and construction industry, it is much more the aesthetics and the filigree of building; the ideal dimension of single structural elements, to achieve a perfect overall result. AL HABASHI General Contracting knows about the importance of the structural engineering and how to set it in correctly.
AL HABASHI General Contracting implements housing technology at the highest level and for all kinds of buildings. We always follow the principle of not affecting the architectural aesthetics with the technical building services and yet to fulfill the technical requirements without compromising quality.
The in-house AL HABASHI General Contracting carpenter’s workshop is not only producing furniture and kitchen elements but also doors and windows. Thereby customized solutions are as a matter of course and are of a very high and enduring standard. The wide variety of solid woods and veneers enables the best possible realization of every request.
All fittings for the construction and furniture are available from European manufacturers, mainly from German speaking countries and enable individual solutions with the highest standards and ensures durability.
AL HABASHI General Contracting is producing windows of all kinds in its factory. The German system of double glazed and double grooved wooden windows is one of our special features. They are perfectly isolated to dust and thermal transfer, they are also soundproof and are therefore perfectly suitable for residential, office and commercial buildings.
The tilt and turn window system allows the full and the angled opening of the window sash. For bigger window surfaces and for glass-framed-doors we also offer the slide and tilt systems. For all window types e use the SIGENIA fittings and therefore guarantee the highest quality standard and endurance. SIGENIA products can also be ordered through AL HABASHI General Contracting.
In the AL HABASHI General Contracting in-house factory we producing of all doors form and sizes. The internal production allows custom made solutions suiting the function and the room. Color and material can also be adjusted to the clients demands.
In 1989 AL HABASHI General Contracting is the first to develop metal space framework in Egypt.
Space frameworks are an ideal solution for spanning large width without columns. They are best especially for big industrial and commercial halls. The three dimensional elements are connected to each other and divide the load perfectly allowing a very high efficiency.
Our system has been often build and internationally approved since.
Air Craft Museum in Cairo, Egypt
The challenge was the projects geometry, the installation sequence, the point load distribution and the complex planning of the project. The open-air exhibited aircrafts are hanging down from two semi-circular shaped framework ceilings. The semi-circular geometry requires a multitude of different frameworks elements with different sizes. This necessitates an accurate prearrangement, a complex production and installation. The clients request to be able to hang an aircraft at any random point of the ceiling caused very high point loads. These loads and the enormous wind suction led to a calculated load of 60t for each support. These oversized bearings have to take the axial loads going down as well as the suctions force going up. Unfortunately a visit to the museum is only for permitted for high-ranking officers.
The German Embassy and residency in Algiers, Algeria
The client of the German Embassy and residency in Algiers, Algeria is the German state represented by the Bundesamt für Raum und Bauordnung (BBR). The task was to restore the old building and to add a new annex to it.
The challenge of this project was the smooth sequence planning. One of the challenges was the ability to fulfill the German norms and standards by importing most of the materials and products needed from Germany.
Another challenge was to send the Egyptian engineers and workers to Algiers, as the workers in Algeria did not have the knowledge which the AL HABASHI General Contracting Team has, when it comes to German standards and norms.
Misr Public Library
In 1994 the German Bertelsmann foundation donated the „Misr Public Library“ to the Egyptian state. AL HABASHI General Contracting was not only the general contractor of the project, but also the general planner. The existing villa was completely restored and redesigned to adjust to its new function as a public library. To meet the new functional requirements AL HABASHI General Contracting had to gut the interior completely and to reinforce the load-bearing structures. All planning and execution was done company-internally.
The Swiss Embassy in Cairo
The Swiss embassy was built in 1881. The building doesn’t have any foundations; it is carried by 70cm thick limestone walls. The building of the high dam in Aswan raised the water table in all over Egypt. Since then the basement stood constantly 30cm under water. The flooded basement and the earthquake in 1992 endangered the building severely. AL HABASHI General Contracting revitalized the historic building by waterproofing it and by reinforcing the load-bearing structures. The carrying limestone walls were stabilized using stainless steel building staples. Also chemical injections were used to prevent from rising capillary water. To keep the groundwater away AL HABASHI General Contracting also built a water proof concrete piling wall which surrounds the whole building. The piling wall is 6 m deep and 60 cm thick and in a distance of 3 m from the building. These works was able to restore and modernize the historic villa.
The Inter Trade Factory
In the year 2001 AL HABASHI General Contracting launched the curved steel space truss onto the Egyptian market. Being the planer and the executor of the Inter Trade Factory made AL HABASHI General Contracting face a new kind of structural planning task; the 60 m by 60m big industrial hall had to be column-free in its upper floor and the floor slab hat to carry the load of 10kN/m².
Using the newly introduced space truss for the roofing and coffered ceiling for the slabs enabled the extraordinary task.
The private residence of the Aga Khans
In 2007 AL HABASHI General Contracting built the private residence of the Aga Khans. Located on Aswans western bank and overlooking the entire old city, this is a top-class building in all its extravaganzas. The building with its Arabic appearing architecture lies in between the granite rocks at the foot of the mausoleum.
The pool is caved in granite and offers an incomparable and panoramic view.
Al Manesterly Palace
The Manesterly Palace project was awarded to AL HABASHI General Contracting in 1998, by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, in which we acted as a general contractor. The palace complex was built in 1851 in the Rococo style on Manial Island in Cairo, next to the historic, Pharaonic Nileometer. The restorations were undertaken according to historical and heritage preservation standards. Among other things, we restored and repaired the ornamental ceilings and walls which were totally covered in color and decoration.
The Administration building of the Lufthansa office
In 1997 AL HABASHI General Contracting renovated the historical villa in which the Lufthansa headquarter is based. The Villa is located in Zamalek, Cairo. The entire building needed to be renovated and renewed to fit to the high German standards; thus the historical building and its charm were respected and highlighted again. All demands of the clients were achieved within the small given budget.
The Mirembetah museum
In 2007 AL HABASHI General Contracting built the Mirembetah-Excavation-Museum for the Swiss Archeological Institute.
The building’s design is very modern and in the meantime very Pharaonic seeming building; fitting in its surrounding. In this museum the most modern museology technics were applied.
